Q. What are the benefits of submitting my photo/s to the Still Awards?

There are numerous benefits and reasons to submit. Here are just a few:

  • Our Live Awards Ceremony takes place at the prestigious Wexford Arts Centre in Ireland.
  • Thirteen Submitters will win a Still Shoot Category Award - A 10 Image Portfolio Featured for One Year on plus their Award Certificate and up to Three External Links to their Website and/or Social Pages  - These links make it easy for interested parties to get in touch with you directly. Still Awards take no commission on third party sales. 
  • All Submitted Images are Featured right up to the Awards Announcements in both Gallery & Slideshow Format with Lightbox Viewing Option. Each image has it's title & author's name/pseudonym attached. We reach out to gallerists, curators, collectors, publishers and International arts media and provide a significant resource for those on the hunt for original artworks and artists.

Q. What's a 'Still Image'

A still image is a single static image. This phrase is used in photography, visual media and the computer industry to emphasize that one is not talking about movies. - Wikipedia  Having said that, a snapshot from a video or film may be referred to as  a 'Film Still' and is therefore also a still image. Put simply, it's a Photograph.


Q. Do I retain ownership of my images?

Yes, 100% You simply grant Still Awards the non-exclusive right to exhibit your image/s on and it's social channels.

You can also request the removal of any one, or all your images, at any time. The removal process may take a few days.


Q. How many images can I submit?

You can submit any number of images to each category.


Q. Can I submit the same image to more than one category

Yes you can submit the same image to any number of categories - Just check that the image complies with the specific category guidelines.

Q. What format should I send my image/s in?

We accept Jpg, Jpeg and Png formats up to 5mb in size.


Q. Do you accept submissions from all countries?

Yes. Our open call is International, so wherever you are and wherever you're from, we'd love to see your photographs.


Q. Is it possible to win more than one award?

Yes, provided you submit to more than one category.


Q. My photos were taken years ago. Is that a problem?

No. Art is not time sensitive.


Q. Can I submit images taken with my phone?

Absolutely. Images taken with your phone can be submitted to the 'Phone Category'. They are eligible for an award in this category and for the overall 'Best Photo' award.


Q. What if my photo doesn't fit into any category?

Most areas of photography are covered by the different categories but if you're unsure Get In Touch before you submit and we'll advise you.


Q. I photograph nudes. Can I submit?

Yes, but you need to consider the following guidelines: Think natural, candid, documentive, life model and/or sensual as opposed to sexual.

The crew at Still Awards are a broadminded bunch and love all things edgy, however, any images we deem to be offensive, discriminatory, or that

depict any individual, group, race, ethnic minority etc. in a derogatory or demeaning way, will be rejected, as will images deemed overtly sexual.
